Founders' Fireside Chat is a recurring, casual conversation format hosted by Dr. Philipp Baaske, Vice President for Entrepreneurship at LMU, and co-founder of NanoTemper, the world market leader in biophysical analysis instruments for drug discovery.

A different founder is invited to join each session. The focus is on open, unfiltered exchange. The audience has the opportunity to ask questions live and learn from the founding experiences of successful entrepreneurs. No keynotes. No slides. Just real talk. #HowIBuiltIt

With Let’s FOCUS, FOCUS magazine and LMU Munich are launching a new talk series at the intersection of science, business and society. It puts the spotlight on the people, ideas and decisions that determine how innovation becomes entrepreneurial success.

The opening event brings together two remarkable Munich founding stories: Christian Hecker, co-founder and CEO of Trade Republic and LMU alumnus, and Dr. Philipp Baaske, co-founder of NanoTemper Technologies and LMU Vice President for Entrepreneurship.

In an exclusive live talk with FOCUS editor-in-chief Georg Meck, they will address the key questions facing European entrepreneurship: How can research be successfully transferred to the market? What conditions do founders need to scale in Germany and Europe? And what must universities, policymakers and the financial sector change so that Europe’s ideas become the companies of tomorrow?
